DNA extraction from human blood

Blood accounts for 7% of the human body weight. By volume, the red blood cells constitute about 45% of whole blood, the plasma constitutes about 55%, and white cells constitute a minute amount.

How to do it

Load 200µl blood in the GeneMole with MoleStrips DNA Blood. Run the DNA Blood protocol.

Results

  • 100 ul elution: 3.4 +/- 0.2 ug OD: (260/280): 1.82
  • 200 ul elution: 4.4 +/- 0.2 ug OD: (260/280): 1,73
