The chicken is one of the most common and widespread domestic animals. With a population of more than 24 billion in 2003, there are more chickens in the world than any other bird.

1ul of chicken blood diluted in 199ul TE buffer

The DNA was used for PCR and SNP genotyping using pyrosequencing method

 A subset of a total of 250 samples were measured. DNA measurements where taken for 2 samples of each run of 16 sample.
